Engineering & Manufacturing Services

The engineering and manufacturing service that we offer to external customers is the same service that we use to develop and manufacture our own products for the agricultural industry. It has developed over time from our own need to be able to design and manufacture accurate repeatable products, produce product documentation and marketing literature in an efficient manner and be price competitive.

We are not a general engineering consultancy but more a tailored provider where our Clients can see a synergy between their and our business.

Engineering

Our engineering knowledge incorporates over twenty years experience in industrial engineering projects ranging from Steel to Wastewater to the Agricultural sectors. We have a seasoned knowledge of what is practical to manufacture, assemble and install as well as an understanding of what represents "Industrial Standard" in terms of quality, function and aesthetics.

In the development of our own products we source the most appropriate technology and method of manufacture whether it is injection moulding, metal casting, sheet metal or structural fabrication or simply adapting our design to use an existing commercially available component.

We understand where specialised knowledge is required and know where to source this expertise; we appreciate the "Black Art" of design. We only take on work that we feel is in our abilities.

As we design and manufacture in-house, we have a clear understanding of the capabilities of machinery and tradesmen in terms of accuracy, repeatability and cost. We keep ourselves abreast of new technology in terms of both components that can be incorporated into a machine as well as new manufacturing technology.

We use current release 3D Solids Modelling software that allows an accurate realistic model to be produced where fit and conflicts can be resolved before prototyping. The models produced can than be electronically sent to our Water Jet and Press Brake, ensuring that accuracy is not lost and new errors not introduced through the redrawing of components. This both simplifies and speeds up the process from concept through to a finished part.

Manufacturing

Our manufacturing service has been set up for prototyping and low volume repetitive manufacture where flexibility is a requirement. We focus on getting a product to the stage where it can be sub-contracted with confidence.

Water Jet Cutting

We have recently purchased a "Techni" Water Jet with a 3m x 1.5m cutting area and an accuracy of motion of ± 0.025 mm and a repeatability of ± 0.015 mm. with a maximum material thickness of 150mm.

Turret Punch Cutting

We currently use a "Behrens" Turret Punch with a 3m x 1.2m sheet size capability with a 30 station Turret.

Folding

We have recently purchased a "Gasparani" 100T Press Brake with 6 axis, auto crowning and off line programming software.

Spot Welding

We have a modern spot welder with PLC control of the welding process.

General Welding

We provide welding services for the purpose of producing prototypes and special purpose equipment as part of a complete engineering service but not for normal production welding.
We have experience in welding mild and stainless steel and focus on using jigs and fixtures to obtain repeatability of accuracy.

Machine Assembly

We are experienced in the assembly of specialised machinery and provide this service as part of a complete engineering service, but not as a contract assembly service.
